The month when school summer break starts in Austria and To turns full-on vacation mode. With travels and water and sun and sand and adventure. And plenty of inspiration for new projects. I had my first tries at scrapbooking (btw, this guy is the best at showing how pop-up cards work), removing gel nail polish at home, cooking shrimp saganaki and... well.. cross-stitching! While I am far from creating a tutorial for any of the above, I do have a throw-back from last year that I haven't yet shared with you - 2018's Vienna Photo Marathon. Cause summer is the time for photos :). Enjoy!

The first day of summer was the last day of his first 7 years... So my baby is not a baby anymore, but rather a Super N. So there it is, the party to mark the occasion, despite the extra stress of K getting chicken pox the day before.. we made it again :)
May is labour since day 1. Because: GARDENING! It's my gardening month, when I mostly struggle to keep my plants alive. This May was no exception: spider mites (acari) on my lemon tree, aphids and black spots on the roses, yellow rust on the raspberries, slugs and snails that ate 3 baby cucumber plants, and, of course, aggressive box tree moth caterpillars on the bushes. I will not even start complaining about the weeds in the grass, I hope they keep the bees happy until more flowers blossom. So what does one do to relax in the spare-from-gardening time? Well, create art, of course. Here is a great (and easy) art idea for your boredom hours: a rope outline painting. Hint: it doesn't have to be a zebra :) Have fun!
Цветно да ви е! Happy Easter for some, Palm Sunday for others, and Happy Name Day to my favourite flower - L! Apart from getting drowned in all this flower power, I have worked on many firsts this month -my first home-made orgeat, my first self-made Mai Tai (and second, and third...), my first kozunak... But the project this week is very well-tested and fool-proof, and even suitable for people who are still fasting: chia pudding. Enjoy responsibly while admiring the flower power. :)
..Spring is here! And while I'm not so thrilled with all the garden work this ensues, the bug attacks, the neem oil smell and the repainting of the outdoor furniture, N and K are already egg-cited about Easter (and Easter egg hunts, in particular). And since my neighbours put up their colourful-eggs-on-a-tree decoration already a month ago, I felt slightly pressured to follow suit. A bit more subtle, I must say. And hare-ful. :) We got some "designer" cardboard pieces in the front... ... and some low-poly magic in the entry (plans developed by this guy)... ... and a little project for you :) Have fun in the sun! With the bugs and the bunnies.
I've planning to do this post for a while, for a few months now, so in the meantime the funny fella above has been transforming into a proper-sized fluff. So there it is, I present you the newest member of TO-s family: H! And if there is no project this month is not because I have been designing cat trees (which I have), nor because I've been trampoline jumping (and actually perfecting my land-on-my-bottom tumble), or trying to train above furry child to fetch. It's because I really, really suck at making martenitsi and my results will not exactly inspire people. I guess I'll try again next year. :)) You too, don't forget to celebrate baba Marta tomorrow and send me an instructable, I really need it. :D
What better way to start the year in style than to organize birthday parties! And while TO enjoyed some escape room action with friends, K had a different idea. Hope it gets you inspired too, this year's topic: flamingling (and karaoke, which is better to stay censored :D). Enjoy!
It's been a busy, busy year, and a busy, busy holiday season for To and family. So please excuse our lack of Christmas cards (not that To didn't design one in November, but it somehow fell through the cracks) and instead find some inspiration for your holiday decorations in the projects below. Merry Merry!
We got to wear our underwear on the outside... and it was fun!
On another note, we are preparing for a new member of the family (hints below). Wish us luck :) At this time of the year, you are most probably expecting my Halloween post. Well, I seem to be a bit late with the Halloween preparations this year, but I am following the natural materials idea that started last month and I am getting ready for... Christmas instead. Hopefully with enough time for you to collect your own pinecones from the nearest park/forest/garden, I present to you: Pinecone ornaments! Enjoy the sparkle. :)
