After a weekend of searching for baking soda in Vienna, I am aware of the following facts: what we call sodium (or natrium) bicarbonate, NaHCO3, could also be called sodium hydrogencarbonate, sodium bicarb, bread soda, cooking soda, bicarb soda, saleratus or bicarbonate of soda. Or, even, E500. In Austria, Natron. You go figure.

You see, I was thinking to post a project for you this week, but instead I realized Jonas Jonasson's second book was surprisingly more enjoyable than the first one, and got sliiiightly distracted. To add to the fact that the wardrobes needed some spring cleaning and we needed some... well... recovery from all the partying last week. :) Oh, and did I mention my sorry attempts to use coconut flour and chia seeds to make muffins?
Instead, I will share with you some of the photos of my "Less is more" photography challenge. For you to have a creative start of the week (otherwise said, to survive Monday). Enjoy! With Fasching Dienstag, IAEA ball and St. Valentine's day in the same week, I'm wondering what to start with - my first attempt at preparing sushi (success!), the fact that salmon might actually be paired with guacamole, and the number of princesses in one household. Wait, first a before-and-after of my ball dress for this year. I am beginning to like (re-)making my own gowns. My wallet seems to concur :). And then, to offer you some valentines in the form of heart pendants - an easy and pretty idea, good for all those kindergarten sweethearts :). With that, I leave you to go bake cake - party season is not over just yet. See you soon, stay inspired!
Disclaimer: I am about to brag about my kids. They are not just a gift, they are quite gifted. N made those awesome robots, one for him and one for me (he knows I love pink). When did he learn to do this? Are they picking up things when we're not watching? Are they learning while we think we're not showing them anything? Fresh minds are incredible. See, K, she's a natural. We needed some art for the walls, and we had a family painting evening. The results below: We gave everyone the same paint and brushes, and somehow K's is so great, and ours are so.. well.. we still hung them.
In the meantime, we also made a new lidman to keep company of the first one, and specifically for bathtub time. You know, one gifted family :) |
