Sleeping mask
If you are living with toddlers, you NEED that. And earplugs. Just as a part of your survival strategy. :))
So here a small tutorial on how to sew a sleeping mask.
You would need:
1. Small fabric scraps, at least one of them in a dark colour;
2. Thin foam (mine came as a part of some cutlery packaging);
3. Elastic band;
4. Lace (optional);
5. Sewing supplies.
Begin by cutting two layers of fabric and one layer of foam in a basic sunglasses shape:

I actually saw many free patterns out there, but soon found out they were all wasted on me, cause they would change the moment I add the sewing allowance. But cutting a basic shape worked just fine.
Next step: pin the three layers right sides together, with the foam on the outside. Measure elastic band to fit your head and pin inside, between the right sides of the two fabric layers. You should have this:

Now sew together, leaving a small opening so you can turn it inside out later. It might not look too pretty just yet. No worries.
Turn inside out:
Still not looking good? Iron and top-stitch. If you have that lace and you want to use it, before top-stitching, pin it on:
And here you are, 10 minutes later, your sleeping mask!
