Now, R form my German class suggested you write down all activities on pieces of paper, put them in a jar, and ask the kids take one out each day. R has 3 children, so I will trust him on that one. But even if you don’t have an activity jar, here are some suggestions:
1. Make a treasure hunt;
2. Ask them to exchange their clothes with their sibling and act like said sibling for an hour;
3. Paint pet stones;
4. Play a board game. Anything goes – Battleship, Azul, Ticket to Ride, Just One...;
5. Make/build your own board game. Or floor game. Or obstacle course;
6. Draw a picture. Make a felt toy that looks like your drawing;
7. Make a vinegar-and-bicarbonate of soda volcano;
8. Have a karaoke night;
9. Set-up a tent in the house for indoor camping. Don’t forget the stories around the “fire”;
10. Have the kids write a fairy tale – alternating at each sentence;
11. Make homemade gummy bears;
12. Make a laser obstacle for young secret agents out of masking tape or yarn;
14. Learn a dance off YouTube – maybe a salsa? Or a Bollywood one? Or just follow a KidsBop dance or a Zumba routine;
15. Make a paper project;
16. Learn how to knit, crochet or embroider. Or all 3;
17. Put up a theatre show;
18. Ask them to teach you something. Assign a night for each kid to present;
19. Paint with window paints/crayons;
20. Make slime.
Whatever you do, have fun! And remember meditation works for kids too (meditation, not wine). :)
