... is autumn. And TO is equally excited by twigs, chestnuts and fall colours, as she is by Lynda.com. To celebrate natural materials, (right) here an inspiring and easy pebbles and glue project: Stay sunny!

It's been a long summer, can't believe it's the last day of August! Summer party's dead, long live the school party! Deflate floaties, fill Schultüte. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my bbq weekends, but surely will have some more time for projects to share (yes, you might have noticed that I was too busy fighting caterpillars and making alfajores and enjoying the sun instead of posting here). It's all relative, cause I did do some projects, but they were largely tragic. Like the "nailed it" version of this deer art: or, my second take at photographing fireworks, while holding a scared child: Hope you also had a great August and are ready for school-work mode. See you soon!
It's summer, the kids are splashing, the bees are buzzing, my roses are blooming... ... and in between guests and barbecues and happy chirping I even get to experiment with new recipes... ... well, mostly not too successfully, although M really liked my lemon meringue pie (not pictured). And since I am in a very very summer mood, no project this month, but a throw back to my best ever score on the Vienna Photo Marathon. Link to the photo blog here.
It's June already, the birds are chirping, the sun occasionally comes out, it feels like summer and my garden photos are here to prove it. Although everything seems to be growing, I spent the most of my gardening time... fighting. Fighting bugs, fighting weeds, fighting bugs again... So N's birthday party theme comes as no surprise. I present to you: Insect party!
With GDPR and everyone trying to interpret it, it's more like Doom Day. In my case, I just write a whole pile of reading material with doubtful quality, declare "И сам воинът е воин" and carry on. Because, you see, gardening is more exciting. But if you have any useful input or comments on all the terms of use that suddenly appeared on my site, feel free to contact me. Then you will be deleted (said otherwise, I will enforce your right to be forgotten, pun intended). Back to the garden update. If anyone told me how much work it is to re-seed the grass on my (otherwise tiny) lawn, I would have probably decided to just live with the moss. But noo, re-seeding did happen, and I have photos to prove it. And photos of my vegetable patch. No photos of my hanging strawberry garden, as strawberries are disappearing faster than they appear. And maybe next time - photos of my roses (currently attacked by nasty aphids). :) As a bonus, here a short picture guide on how to fix your own raised bed. Although mine actually has a bottom, but hey, one has to work with whatever opportunity presents itself. I was presented with a kitchen counter packing box, and it worked quite well. Stones were also not part of the initial plan, but I found so many while cleaning the soil for the re-seeding of the grass, that had to use them for something. And look at me now. Salad ready at all times. Disclaimer: some cherry tomatoes lost their lives during the taking of above photos. No peppers or eggplants were harmed in the process.
TO got seriously boxed in into unboxing all those moving boxes we've been dragging across the city for the last few months. And realized she needed more storage solutions. If you need one yourself, click on the colourful photo above. If you don't, maybe you're an outside person, so come join me. I can be found here:
Happy Catholic Easter, Orthodox Palm Sunday (for us, Flower Day) and spring in general! I wanted to share today a very inspiring idea - but since my gardening projects are still a work in progress, and my photo transfer mod podge one was not entirely successful, here is something for those of you who haven't felt the spring really kicking in yet. A recipe. For homemade chocolate spread. It's almost like a salad :)
TO is moving houses, and packing the last 10 years in boxes of all sizes and shapes. And I keep discovering what not - soo many projects that I have completely forgotten about (and for the better, when I think about it). So many unfinished ideas - here half a crocheted doll, there the pieces for a sock dragon, and a 1/3-sewn Easter rabbit. But also a lot of reminders of all those times things didn't go as planned. I can open my own "Nailed it" Pinterest board. And while I don't keep photographic evidence of all my mishaps, I can probably start a list. Like the time when I was sooo excited to make this mosaic bowl. And then kind of used glue instead of grout. Needless to say, it didn't work. Oh well, at least I have an eye for a good photo angle :) Or the time when I tried to go to a party with this great 3D paper mask. Yeah, right. This is how far I got with that one. While we are on paper topic, I do recall my super-optimistic idea one winter to have snow globe Christmas cards. Did not happen. I do keep the templates, though, if you ever want to try - I cut transparent globe parts for the outside, it really really didn't work. Maybe you should follow the directions and use cardboard ;). Tutorial here. My Alphabet flashcards idea! Destroyed by my kids at idea stage, before I could even design the cards. When I DID have a fun drawing of a frog on a giraffe. One day, one day... Every single time I've worked with clay. Every. Single. Time. And the time when I tried to bake macarons on parchment paper. And the other time when I really wanted to make Hello Kitty macarons. And when I tried to prepare gummy bears with pineapple juice. Or when I tried to sew my own wedding dress (ha ha!). Oh, here it is, the time when I put autumn leaves in between sheets of contact foil to make a table runner. And because they couldn't dry in there, they started rotting inside... Fun times. Then, of course, my melt-a-plastic-bottle experiments. Not quite sure why I even did that. And before I get you tired with my list of genius and not so genius flops, I might as well stop myself and go back to packing. My photo blog provides for some more pleasant views. :)
Yes, I spent my Sunday with a Pinky Pie necklace on. I think it suits me. After all this party organizing my kitchen can be named Sugarcube corner. Just don't ask me to sing, cause I might... :)
Докато аз ставам таририрам насам-натам, коледата станала весела, блогът ми навършил три години, и станало време за отваряне на подаръци. Та ви изпращам една усмихната занимавка за студени мързеливи дни. In the meantime To has been busy with this year's gingerbread village, that is not entirely gingerbread anymore, and with her own apple pie recipe (update might or might not follow on that :D ). Wishing you a magical holiday season!
